20A

The first person I came in contact with is a friend of mine who works with computers and has developed apps before. I think this person is a great domain expert, they have a business in which they help people with technical computer and software issues and help develop software. I met this person through work, this person can help me find someone or just help me develop the app for my product.

The second person I came in contact with is a friend of a friend, she owns a marketing company that works on helping businesses start up and getting their name out there. I met this as I was asking people if they knew anyone who had a business or business experience. They can help me by contacting gyms both local and national to promote this software once it has been developed and maybe secure some licensing deals. This person is a market expert.

Lastly one of my customers is a supplier expert, they have years of experience in the concrete industry and this will come in handy because they have developed logistics that will allow me to use in order to find the algorithms that will need to be in the app for it to work. This person would be the supplier.

I think that this is my dream team and if executed will actually result in the start of this app and the business, if we can find a gym that is interested and willing to hear us out and try out the software once it is developed it will be a functional tool people use to work out.

19A

On my first napkin idea I talked about an app that would allow you to reserve gym equipment as if you were waiting in line, the feedback I received was mixed. The individuals I interviewed saw the benefit but did not see it could be implemented so it would not be a hassle. Following up on this feedback I would like to refine and further explain how exactly this will take place. A person will get to the gym and can then select the machines they want to use and see if there is a wait, once you reserve it, you can use it for as long as you want but you have to be at the equipment within a certain time period. This service would be of a licensing than a product that we could sell to a gym and they could implement it. This will allow for people to save time and have people in and out quicker allowing for more traffic overall. This will be for anyone who goes to the gym and finds that they are spending too long just waiting around for machines to open up.

I believe that this product could potentially be great solution to a problem that no one is doing anything to fix. I would just have to find a way to create a server and an app to start working on the platform

14A - Halfway Reflection

1. One of the reasons I have been able to keep up with all the assignments is because I have made it a routine to check canvas and watch the lectures. I try to keep up every wee, if you don’t you’ll loose so much information and it’ll be hard to catch up.

2. The first assignment that made me question going forward was the reading assignment given to us this week, I really debated giving up and calling it a day, but I didn’t and I pushed through. It helped that one of the books was of interest.

3. Consistency will allow you to develop and maintain the tenacity, take this as your first step into the “business world”, and lastly just do it.

13A - Reading Reflection No. 1

For this reflection I read The Wright Brothers by David McCullough:

The most admirable thing about the Wright brothers is that they took their childhood dream and transformed it into a reality. Their dream began when their father brought home a “helicopter”, a machine that flew to the top of their ceiling. They stopped at nothing to create one of the greatest things known to mankind

The Wright brothers had various competencies such as hard work, perseverance, determination, and passion

Luckily for me there weren’t any confusing part of the book for me, being a pilot I understand the mechanics and the physics that goes on behind the scene of flight. I also understood their trouble as thy tried various designs.

Two questions I would ask of the Wright brothers are:
1. If you could do it again, how would you do it differently
2. Did you always know you were one day going to actually achieve this goal?

5. I think that the Wright brothers are the epitome of hard work, they spent countless years working on something they had complete passion for and eventually it paid off.

12A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Segment: For this project I will be using a geographic segment, this would be a good start since I could find the gyms

3 people: The individuals who I interviewed are all people who go to the gym around the same time and they all go to different gyms

Conclusion: After conducting the interviews it is clear that these individuals clearly experience this problem constantly and find themselves spending too much time at the gym. This seems to be a problem at any gym the determining factor is the time that the individuals go to the gym

Description: My interviewees and many others have just learned to accept it or adapt and change their schedules to come during different times.
